since 2001, the fruitville friends have supported the fruitville library in its efforts to provide the best service possible to the east sarasota county community.

the friends of the fruitville library is a non-profit organization that raises funds to:

support library programs   enhance library collections   promote library resources   sponsor library events

fruitville friends also advocate for libraries by sharing information about the value of libraries with the community and elected officials.

fruitville friends have under-written many library programs, such as Born to Read Early Literacy and summer reading for youth.

the award winning Reading Garden was a Friends special project funded by the Friends organization and Friends volunteers continue the maintenance.
